Two hundred years ago, Qiyan was a diligent guardian spirit in the Celestial Realm, but was framed by a treacherous villain. Accused of conspiring with demons, burning the immortal fruits, and killing several fairies, Qiyan had their immortal bones extracted and their core destroyed by their own master, Immortal Venerable Yun Chen, before being cast into the cycle of reincarnation to suffer endless rebirths.
While being taken to the Reincarnation Platform, Qiyan encountered Xuan Ming, who had been reduced to a mere soul by the Divine Lord Erlang after burning down the Celestial Library.
To escape punishment, Xuan Ming shared a body with Qiyan, and together they fled to the mortal world.
After arriving in the mortal world, Qiyan set out to help Xuan Ming regain a physical body and return to the past to find the one who framed them. They searched for mortals consumed by hatred and resentment, possessing them and helping them kill, so that those mortals would willingly offer up their souls.
