The work is adapted from "Journey to the West" and "Black Myth: Wukong". It tells the story of Monkey King, the Monkey King, who after returning from Buddhist scriptures, achieved enlightenment status, but found that being in the Immortal Class could not free all living beings from oppression, so he resigned from the Buddhist throne. During the struggle, Sun Wukong found that his tight band had never really disappeared. In order to completely get rid of this shackles, he chose to abandon his physical body, and his six roots (eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind) turned into six root vessels and scattered in the world.
Many years later, an unknown monkey "Xiao Hei" on Huaguo Mountain began his fantasy adventure. He made a living by doing odd jobs outside the Water Curtain Cave in Huaguo Mountain since he was a child. He is quite similar to the Monkey King, but he is called "Little Black" because of his dark coat. One day, a wandering bird under the Nanhai Seat appeared and told Xiao Hei that any monkey with a great sage in mind would have the opportunity to become a "man of destiny" and embark on the mission of re-walking the journey to the west.
