Golden Light Puppet Theater: Watching The Record of Mo Xie

A few things to know before watching:

1. A large portion of the story involves watching the show, and most character reactions are presented through dialogue. For now, I can't write large-scale battles or contests of wits among the viewers after they finish watching, nor do I have the ability to do so.

2. This is a watch-along of The Record of Mo Xie, following the show episode by episode. It isn't a collection of clips, a mashup, or a general rundown of the whole Golden Light storyline.

3. The sky screen functions as a TV. There are no onscreen comments or characters from another dimension, just four watch-along commentators from the same world as Qiao Rulai. They don't take part in the plot.

4. There are quite a few original details, such as when Qiao Rulai and the others watch The Record of Mo Xie, who watches, and where they watch it.

5. I'm a novice writer who just finished watching The Record of Mo Xie. Please bear with me if I get some characterizations out of character or make mistakes about things fans are expected to know. I'll keep watching as I write.

That's all the advance warning. If you'd like to revisit Golden Light or are curious about it, you're welcome to give this a try. I wrote it to get more people into the fandom, after all. Also, I'm a new writer and my prose is immature. If you can't get through it but are interested in Golden Light, you can always just watch the show. That's it. Thanks, everyone.
