Hesse's fairy tales are not fairy tales in the traditional sense, but they are deeply influenced by Eastern and Western fairy tale traditions. From "Two Brothers", which he created when he was ten years old, to his last piece, "Birds," written in 1933, they bear witness to Hesse's attempts to use this genre to record his inner world as an artist.

Moreover, Hesse explores many profound topics in the book, which I found very enlightening. I particularly like some of the characters in it, such as the loyal puppy. I was very touched by its cuteness and bravery. However, I also had characters I hated, such as the greedy businessman whose selfishness was infuriating. Overall, this is a book worth reading and I recommend it to you!
I was quite shocked after reading the first story
The first story has a very distinct fairy tale color and is very shocking. This novel is very rich in thoughts and feelings. It was more like one debate match after another.
Hesse's words directly touch the depths of the soul. The ups and downs of life are just short-term reunions and separations with loved ones and relatives, but they are full of philosophy and warm love.
