[Mystery + case-solving + deduction + interstellar + black technology + first person + soft science fiction]
(Not an apocalypse story, not wish fulfillment, no System, no protagonist aura. Read at your own risk.)
I'm a detective in a star system. After suffering a brain injury on a mission, I underwent surgery to siliconize part of my brain tissue. My recovery went well, but I developed face blindness, and the doctors can do nothing about it.
The solar system is vast and cases are everywhere. I have no choice but to keep solving them, hoping my face blindness won't interfere with my work.
