On a distant mountain beyond the road of the Sequence Method stands a Taoist temple. Few people ever visit. An old Taoist priest named Chen Chen sits there alone.
Many years ago, two lines of poetry were written on its door: “As if I’ve known you, we could gaze upon the world until the end of time. Your radiant warmth shines through winter’s depths, leaving no cold behind.”
Later, they were replaced with two different lines: “Once lowly and penniless, I dreamed a fleeting dream of glory. I hate the fickle heart that abandoned me; a love song of snow and grief.”
Once, a boy came here seeking answers to the doubts in his heart.
Later, a girl came here to answer a song of sorrow.
The story began when snow fell into their hearts that year.
The story ended when snow fell upon them that year.
It turns out that every encounter in this world is simply one among the countless beings we have met. We may pause, we may linger, but in the end, we must all face the story that belongs to us.
“Goodbye, or goodbye forever.”
