The Foolish Prince and the Ugly Consort

“By the Mandate of Heaven, the Emperor decrees: Lin Ruoyan, daughter of the Prime Minister, is gentle and virtuous. She is hereby betrothed to the Ninth Prince, Zhao Chenyi. Let the wedding be held on an auspicious date.” The imperial edict shattered the peace of the Prime Minister’s residence.

Word around the capital was that Lin Ruoyan was plain-looking and eccentric. As for Prince Zhao Chenyi, the Ninth Prince, he might be a prince, but he was also a simple-minded fool. This marriage became the talk of the town.

Within the Prime Minister’s residence, Lin Ruoyan listened quietly to the edict, her face utterly expressionless. She knew this was a political marriage she could not refuse.

He was the foolish prince in everyone’s eyes, childish and simple, yet possessed of a kind and innocent heart.

She was the ugly princess of the rumors, hideous in appearance, yet endowed with extraordinary intelligence and courage.

A political marriage bound two people who seemed utterly mismatched. But as they spent time together, they gradually discovered one another’s strengths and joined forces to face the power struggles and schemes of the imperial court.

After enduring countless hardships, the foolish prince was no longer a fool, and the ugly princess was no longer ugly.

Their love grew ever stronger through the storms, and in the end, they made him a wise and benevolent ruler.
