Zhao Chen accidentally transmigrates to the Great Zhou Dynasty and becomes the only heir to the hereditary Duke of Lu title. He thinks he can lie flat and enjoy the carefree life of a spoiled young noble, but it turns out the situation in Great Zhou is rather tricky.
A bloodthirsty empress, a princess who despises evil, a sinister and ruthless prince of the imperial clan, treacherous and obsequious nobles, a corrupt Director of the Eastern Depot, a fiancee with ulterior motives...
The Duke of Lu inexplicably dies in battle at the border, the empress keeps putting off Zhao Chen's inheritance of the title, and the whole capital is rife with undercurrents, crises, and danger.
Luckily, he awakens the Honey Badger System: take life and death in stride, and if anyone crosses you, hit back. If all else fails, start over. Follow your instincts and the System will reward you!
Honey badgers never hold grudges. They settle them on the spot.
A noble's son mouths off, so one mighty slap knocks his teeth out. The Director of the Eastern Depot shows off, but if he wasn't castrated cleanly, he'll get castrated again. A prince wants to take the throne? Did he ask the honey badger what it thinks?
The empress refuses to back down, so she needs a good lesson. Whatever the honey badger puts out is guaranteed to be top quality.
Empress: "Brother Chen, go easy! The whole Great Zhou Dynasty is shaking!"
Prince Lu: "If I could start over, I'd rather never have made an enemy of Zhao Chen!"
