The Vampire's Retainer

Sweet romance + multiple couples + fast-paced plot + a touch of angst + wish fulfillment + happy ending + multiple settings

He is a vampire with extraordinary predatory instincts. She is a clever, cunning hunter who has undergone rigorous training. So which of them is the prey? When nothing goes according to plan, and witches, werewolves, beings from other worlds, and even more powerful forces of darkness join the conspiracy, what will they choose when love triumphs over reason: duty, mission, love, or their own humanity? Defying fate and the will of heaven, they face even more uncontrollable variables and stronger foes. Memories and the past become a fathomless abyss, dragging them down into the mire.

Will they endure and spend the rest of their lives together, or give up and part in tears at the crossroads of fate?

A few basic ideas:

The heroine grows over the course of the story. She really is weak and laid-back at first, but she'll develop later and unleash a devastating power that sends everyone flying.

There aren't many characters, but each has a backstory. I'll do my best to make them feel well-rounded.

Flashbacks to different eras will be woven in, mainly the Spring and Autumn period and the Republican era.
