In the Battle of Panhe, Yuan Shao was powerful and Gongsun Zan was defeated. Zhao Zilong tried to protect Gongsun Zan and escaped back to the boundary bridge. Two of Yuan Shao's tiger generals, Yan Liang and Wen Chou, pursued them. Zilong led dozens of cavalry to cut off the rear in person and tried to protect Gongsun Zan from crossing the river. Unfortunately, Zilong was weak and disappeared after a melee. Gongsun Zan was heartbroken and devastated at the loss of his good general. Unbeknownst to Xu, Zilong reappeared three months later...
