Beiqiao Village, the reason for its name is clearly visible. It is located one kilometer north of Duancheng County, facing the county across the Huanxiang River. The North Bridge on the river connecting Duancheng County became the source of the name of this village. This bridge is by no means just the only way for people to leave the village and communicate with each other. It is also a faithful witness of the marriage and family life of Zhang Chengxi and Duan Meilan. It also vividly displays the various life styles of Beiqiao Village.
Duancheng County is located in the Huaihe River impact plain in northern Jiangsu Province, China. The flat terrain and fertile soil have jointly achieved its respected status as an important producing area of summer and autumn grains. People here have made their living from farming for generations, working silently and hard on this vast land, and harvesting full of hopes and aspirations.
Beiqiao Village is remote and relatively isolated. In the 1960s, no urban educated youth set foot here. The villagers are focused solely on agricultural production, rural construction, and the continuation of traditional life, and have nothing to do with the trend of educated youth going to the countryside.
As for when Beiqiao Village appeared, no one can say for sure. Most of the residents in the village are descendants who migrated from Hongdong, Shanxi during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. Among them, the residents surnamed Zhang have the largest number, followed by Lu and Sun.

The story connects well. Hope until the end. Good people will be rewarded with good things, and bad people will be rewarded with bad things.
