Brave New World

Brave New World was the first dystopian novel I encountered, and it had a great shock to me. I saw oppression under a seemingly orderly hierarchy in the ultimate utopian world. Most Aquarius people create limited wealth, while a small number of Aquarius people enjoy a large amount of resources. The few humans who woke up and resisted were sent away, but the lower class people didn't even have a chance to wake up, even to get rid of the boring status quo day after day. And the human beings who were still reproducing viviparously became savages, a group of people with vulgar behavior and dangerous thoughts, but who could sing poems and destroy Utopia. Class, technology, non-artism, humanity and ideas. Only after giving up and giving up all thoughts, and the body is controlled by desire, can we truly enter the new world. Brave New World, as the name suggests, a beautiful new world of freedom unfolds in front of all advanced people who are satisfied with the status quo. But "absolutely" is not necessarily right. Can "beautiful" really be beautiful? Compared with the pretended calmness under the pressure of rules in 1984, when discussing the existence of Big Brother but the absence of "I", everyone can be wiped out at will. I think being exiled to the island is not a kind of extermination, because no one denies that the current utopia controlled by technology and confused by Soma is the old world, and the new world may be born on the island.

I loved Bernard in the book, as he awakens in this world and tries to find his true self. The description of human beings being controlled by technology in the plot made me think deeply, have we also lost ourselves unknowingly? This is a thought-provoking book and definitely worth reading.

It's a very good book, worth reading, but you should stay rational when reading it. Don't blindly follow or subconsciously approve of certain behaviors and opinions of the characters and the values ​​​​that the author himself may not consciously substitute. You can think about it first, and you will gain a lot after thinking about it.

I found a lot of translations of this one which are pretty good, but still obscure and difficult to read. I searched for the best translation of Sun Fali's version, but Tomato doesn't show the translator. Even so, this book is considered wonderful.
