Lin Wei, a working woman from the 21st century, died suddenly from overwork and was reborn as the illegitimate daughter of a wealthy merchant in Chang'an during the Tang dynasty. She unexpectedly awakened the special ability to sense strange beasts and discovered that she was descended from the Keepers of the Seal. At the same time, strange beasts began appearing across the Tang empire. Behind them lay the threat of ancient seals weakening, while a faction known as the Seal Breakers plotted to release the evil beings of the Nether Abyss and seize control of the world.
Lin Wei joined forces with fellow transmigrators Zhang Hai and Su Qing, along with Qingxu, a reclusive Keeper of the Seal, to form a monster-hunting team. They used modern knowledge to establish themselves in the Tang dynasty's workplace, dealing with strange beasts and navigating family and court intrigues, while investigating the beasts' origins, unraveling ancient legends, and searching for key artifacts such as the Nether Abyss Atlas and the Mountain-Subduing Bell. With the power of a jade pendant, they fought the beasts and the Seal Breakers, taking on the mission of protecting the seals and saving the people of Chang'an. Together, they forged a passionate tale of workplace survival, fantasy adventure, and the defense of justice in the flourishing Tang dynasty.
