The story begins in Dongsheng Shenzhou, a magical place shrouded in ancient legends. The heaven was suddenly invaded by unknown forces, and the order of the three realms faced an unprecedented crisis. In order to find a way to rescue, Buddha Sakyamuni issued a decree and ordered Guanyin Bodhisattva to go to the human world to find Buddhist scripture collectors with great wisdom, courage and compassion.
The person who learns the scriptures is the reincarnated Tang Monk. He was originally the reincarnation of the golden cicada in the heaven. He was demoted to the mortal world because of his contempt for the Buddha's teachings in his previous life. After experiencing the suffering of reincarnation for ten lives, he finally enlightened the great road and embarked on the westward journey. The accompanying disciples, Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, Sha Seng, and Xiao Bailong, are all not ordinary people. They are each burdened with deep sins and unresolved love. By chance, they were subdued by Tang Monk one by one, and they swore to protect their master to the west to obtain scriptures.
However, the road to the west is not a smooth one. There are endless demons and ghosts along the way, and even the gods in the past have fallen into demons for various reasons, hindering the great cause of learning scriptures. Sun Wukong relies on his seventy-two transformations, somersault clouds and other magical powers to fight wits and courage with all kinds of monsters; Zhu Bajie is greedy and lazy, but he can always play a key role at critical moments; Sha Seng is calm and reliable, silently shouldering the heavy responsibility of protecting his master; Little White Dragon turns into a white horse, travels thousands of miles a day, and never leaves.
