A cool, ethereal, beautiful crown prince vs. a wealthy, alluring bandit woman with astonishing combat skills
Gu Yunjing rules over more than forty mountains in the west and is a bandit chief in every sense of the word.
One day, she finds a beauty and decides to add him to her harem.
But this beauty turns out to be someone important: he is the crown prince of a kingdom.
As it happens, she’s about to move her camp to the capital. Under the identities of the crown prince’s intended consort and a Vice Minister of Rites, she stirs up a storm at court, bringing an old wrongful case between former enemies to light!
A little scene:
One day, Gu Yunjing returns home dead drunk after a night out drinking with her brothers. The beauty, dressed in plain robes, gazes at her mournfully. “Is there still room for me in your heart, my lady? I knew it. Everything you told me when we married was a lie.”
The beauty looks so forlorn, and Gu Yunjing loves beautiful people so much that she sobers up halfway at once. She hurriedly does whatever it takes, humbling herself as she coaxes her angry beauty.
The next day, Gu Yunjing rubs her aching waist and curses. “If I ever feel sorry for that heartless man again, I’m a dog!”
(Reader advisory: Set in an imaginary dynasty with no basis in history. A lighthearted, no-brain fantasy set in an ancient world.)
A pure historical romance: sweet and silly, with two strong, devoted leads, a fun and funny tone, and clear-headed characters.
It's okay! Nice!!
Very nice, highly recommended [laughs]
