I Can’t Tell Fortunes or Catch Ghosts, but I Do Have a Classic of Mountains and Seas

[Not really horror? Probably. + Unconventional heroine + Don’t take it too seriously, it’s just a novel; you lose if you do. + No CP (everyone dotes on her, so ship whoever you like!) + Definitely a feel-good, sweet story!] Bai Wei didn’t know how other people caught ghosts. Maybe they did it like in the movies she’d watched as a child, using magic, talismans, or enchanted artifacts to kill or subdue them. But Bai Wei was different. When she ran into ghosts and monsters, she might first pull out a palm-sized picture book, flip to a page showing a Taotie, then another with a Qilin, and throw them at the monsters. As for what happened to the ghosts and monsters in the end... that probably depended on how lucky they’d been in life and after death. Of course, Bai Wei considered herself a reasonable person. She’d handle things the way they needed to be handled. Hey, hey, first things first: not just any picture book will work, so please don’t try this yourselves. If you’ve already tried it, um, good luck. The so-called Classic of Mountains and Seas picture book was actually Bai Wei’s own cute version of the Classic of Mountains and Seas, drawn according to her imagination. Every single ferocious beast and divine creature was just so... adorable! That’s right, all of them were absolutely precious. Whenever they showed their true forms, they looked so sweet and harmless. They were just too cute. Of course, surely nobody would take them lightly, right? Right! Taotie: ...Damn it! My current master is definitely crazy. Give me back my fearsome appearance, the one that made everyone tremble! Bai Wei casually pulled out a piece of paper with the character “Full” written on it and held it in front of Taotie, smiling faintly. Taotie: Eee, Master~ I knew you were the best~ The other ferocious beasts nearby silently turned away, pretending they hadn’t seen a thing. They didn’t want to know such a shameless creature. *Slurp.* But they were so hungry. When would it be their turn?
