Psychology Basics

The widespread lack of logical coherence and basic psychological knowledge in online spaces reflects a broader social reality: many people fail to consider how their words may affect others psychologically. This is not limited to the internet; the same thing happens in face-to-face conversations. For example, someone posting on social media may not realize that their words could trigger emotional responses in others, such as anger, shame, or anxiety. This often stems from a lack of deeper understanding of psychological principles such as emotional contagion and empathy.

A lack of basic psychological knowledge is also evident in people's limited understanding of self-expression and self-defense mechanisms. In an argument or conflict, a kind person may find themselves caught in a "self-justification trap": to refute false accusations or misunderstandings, they end up spending enormous effort proving their innocence or that they are right. In such situations, people may overlook effective communication strategies, such as listening actively, calmly analyzing the other person's point of view, and offering constructive feedback. Instead, they may make the conflict and misunderstanding worse.
