Psychological Common Sense

The widespread lack of logical coherence and basic knowledge of psychology has been observed in cyberspace, which reflects a common social reality in which many individuals fail to fully consider the potential impact of words on others' mental states when communicating. This situation is not limited to the online environment, but actually also exists in face-to-face communication. For example, when a person posts something on social media, they may not realize that their words may trigger emotional responses in others, such as anger, shame, or anxiety. This is often due to a lack of deep understanding of psychological principles such as emotional contagion or empathy. In addition, the lack of common sense in psychology is also reflected in the insufficient understanding of self-expression and self-justification mechanisms. In arguments or conflicts, good people may find themselves caught in the "self-certification trap," where they have to spend a lot of energy proving their innocence or correctness in order to refute false accusations or misunderstandings. In this case, individuals may neglect effective communication strategies, such as active listening, calmly analyzing the other party's point of view, and using constructive feedback, which may intensify confrontation and misunderstanding.
