Yiming, the protagonist, has neither a surname nor a past. Ever since he can remember, he has been confined to Oletus Manor. As the game Identity V grows popular across the star systems, the manor's owner receives far too many complaint letters. To squeeze more out of the workforce (crossed out), and to allocate personnel more reasonably, he appoints Yiming as a tester responsible for handling all kinds of complaints. Yiming will only be allowed to leave the manor once the number of complaints falls below a quarter of what it was at the start.
