Ghostly Tales from a Bashu Mountain Village

[Rural Ghost Tales + Mystery and Suspense + Chilling Stories That Make You Think]

For many years, I’ve wanted to gather and share with my friends the strange stories I’ve experienced myself, witnessed happening to others, and heard adults tell slowly beside the hearth on long winter nights when I was a child, its bright flames burning warmly.

Time flies like a white colt glimpsed through a crack. In the blink of an eye, I’m no longer young. I’ve experienced so much, learned so much about the ways of the world, and wrestled with so many ultimate questions in my heart.

Today, I’m going to dig deep into my mind for those scattered fragments of memory from long ago and recount those terrifying, astonishing supernatural events once more.

I’m neither a steadfast materialist nor someone who promotes feudal superstition. It’s just that strange things have happened to me before, and some of them even saved my life at the time!

So I often find myself asking: In this vast world that seems so ordinary, could there really be “gods and ghosts” beyond the recognition of science, silently watching over us?
