After completing a year as an intern, Xu Yi is hired as a police officer at the municipal bureau. He is immediately assigned to mentor a new intern, Liu Wanxing.

Just as Xu Yi is worrying about whether he can handle training a newcomer, an even bigger problem quietly emerges.

An unusual riot breaks out at the airport in Linhai City's Linnan District. Xu Yi, a police officer with the Linhai City Municipal Bureau, goes to the scene to deal with it. By chance, he encounters Liu Wanxing, an intern police officer who has just landed and is on her way to take up a post at the Linzhong City Municipal Bureau. But Xu Yi soon realizes that these rioters are no ordinary people.

By the time they confirm that the so-called rioters are zombies, the world has already fallen. Linzhong City is no exception. Xu Yi and Liu Wanxing narrowly escape Linnan District and return to Linzhong District, where the municipal bureau is located, only to find that zombies have already appeared in the west of the city. Everyone at the bureau is on high alert by the western cordon.

But with no prior experience facing zombies, their defenses are incomplete, and the zombies break through the line. Most of their colleagues, including the bureau chief, are killed by the zombies.

In the end, only nineteen officers remain at the municipal bureau, including Xu Yi and Liu Wanxing. All the districts to the east, south, west, and north of Linhai City have fallen. Only Linzhong District still has a large safe zone. Can they keep it secure...?
