Slay: The Soul of a Demon Hunter

They say that on the edge of the human empire's universe lies a technologically underdeveloped planet called Yanxing. After a thousand years of integration between humans and the native Yi people, the two had become one. Then monsters from beyond the universe tore through space and time, shattering the peace. The giant Kunpeng beasts ripped open space and began to consume and assimilate Yanxing. Countless monsters poured through the rifts in space and time. They were practically impervious to blades and bullets, while artillery fire had little effect. Driven to the brink, human technology advanced relentlessly. New generations of weapons inspired the latent potential of the non-pureblood Yi people, who formed a monster-hunting guild and reverse-engineered the monsters' weapons into weapons of mass destruction on a cosmic scale. “We've tried everything, but we've never considered running away.” “Even if we fight to the last person, we will never hand this planet over.” The enemy's overwhelming strength leaves humanity with no hope of victory. Humanity was divided in the early stages of the invasion, then united in its later stages. They have already prepared for their entire species to be wiped out. All they can do is hope that the interstellar vessel carrying the planet's history and records about the monsters from beyond the universe will reach the capital of the human empire, where it can warn the empire, and perhaps the empire can reclaim Yanxing and restore their homeland.
