It tells the story of a contract marriage that began with hatred. In order to retaliate against Su Nian, who had "betrayed" him, business tycoon Jiang Jin forced her to become his wife in name only on the condition of saving his father. During the one-year engagement, he used every means to humiliate and torture him, but Su Nian endured it for the sake of family love. When misunderstandings and conspiracies ensued, Jiang Jin's ruthlessness indirectly led to the death of Su Nian's father. Desperate, she left the divorce agreement and disappeared quietly.
A year later, Jiang Jin found out the truth, fell into bone-gnawing regret, and frantically searched for his wife. Finally, they reunited with Su Nian, who had regained a new lease of life, in a foreign gallery. He humbled himself and begged for forgiveness, but she learned to love herself and said goodbye to the past calmly. This crematorium for chasing his wife that he lit with his own hands ultimately burned away all the light for the rest of his life.
