Tan Zhen has been married to Yu Tingfeng for five years. She knows perfectly well that marrying him by cashing in on a favor she once did for him has earned her his complete resentment and kept him apart from his first love.
His coldness has worn down her love until nothing is left. She gives up on him and plays the perfect wife in front of her parents.
Only when she sees his expression soften for someone else does Tan Zhen realize that he is capable of loving someone.
He simply doesn’t love her.
She presents him with divorce papers, and Yu Tingfeng signs without hesitation.
Then Yu’s father hosts a banquet, where both Tan Zhen and Yu Tingfeng are drugged.
Yu Tingfeng resents her even more, but their bodies are too perfectly matched. He can’t get enough of her and can’t sit still.
Seeing Tan Zhen thrive in social circles, Yu Tingfeng blocks her way and invites his ex-wife for a drink.
Tan Zhen shoots him a sidelong glance. “Wasn’t Mr. Yu once bitten by a snake and now afraid of ropes for ten years?”
Yu Tingfeng presses a finger to her lower lip, revealing two tiny pointed teeth.
“The dose wasn’t enough. I’ll have to ask you to bite a little deeper, Miss Tan.”
