In 1941, the New Fourth Army dispatched the third, fourth, and fifth detachments from Pudong, Shanghai, and crossed the sea to fight against Japan in the Siming Mountain area of Yuyao, Zhejiang. The 35th Detachment, led by Tan Zhenlin, established the anti-Japanese base area in eastern Zhejiang and opened up a new anti-Japanese world for the New Fourth Army in Jiangnan.
