Xu Yiru died, but not completely.
In a daze, she raises her head to look at the Judge seated above her, waiting for her fate to be decided.
But the Judge says, "I'm short-staffed. How about becoming an intern? We can negotiate the salary. Five kinds of insurance and a housing fund, one day off every five days, and paid leave on holidays."
Xu Yiru is shamefully tempted. Her daily routine is tying neat little bows in her own intestines after they fall out, day in and day out. She's sick of it.
This new job has come along at just the right time!
The Judge seems very kind, saying things like, "Young man, I believe in you. Keep up the good work!"
But Xu Yiru sees right through it. Put simply, if she takes the job, they're good friends. If she doesn't, she's dead.
Xu Yiru declares righteously, "When it comes to right and wrong, I know where I stand. I'll do it!!!"
Dying is out of the question, but keeping her head down is an option.
Her first world is an ancient era full of scheming, where poison and plots abound and blades flash alongside clashing swords.
Completing the mission means strapping her head to her belt and outscheming the locals.
Xu Yiru: "..." She can't outscheme them. No chance.
