This story follows four women from out of town as they navigate family life and romance, along with the little-known struggles of family relationships. For various reasons, they leave their hometowns and parents behind and come to an unfamiliar village to start new lives. As outsiders, they are often shunned by others, while at home they struggle to earn their families’ trust. Misunderstandings are common, and some are watched so closely by their families that they are not even allowed to visit their parents without someone worrying. Some find happiness, while others face hardship. Yet they love life, remain steadfast, and show responsibility, courage, affection, and loyalty…
This is the adventurous life journey of several girls who have known more than their share of misfortune. When we first read their stories, we may feel confused or angry, thinking, “If she were my daughter, I’d never allow this…”
But not every family of origin is as fortunate as the ones we readers have.
And so, many things happen just this way.
