I'll Be the General for Two Days

After transmigrating, spy Jiang Qiqi decides to lie flat and enjoy life.

But why does her general husband seem so clueless?

Shen Luo: "We've spent months planning to catch the spy in the general's manor."

Jiang Qiqi: "The gardener in the flower garden, the kitchen helper tending the stove, and the maid doing odd jobs in my courtyard are all spies. Go arrest them."

"...Thanks."

Shen Luo: "We don't want to lose the city. We need to convince the emperor to send troops, with the help of the ministers."

Jiang Qiqi: "Think about it carefully. Wasn't there some kind of treasure belonging to our Nanyue state beneath that city?"

The next day at court, the emperor declared, "I don't care whether there's treasure or not, but these lands were handed down by our ancestors. We can't give up an inch of our territory. I'll send troops at once to defend the city!"

Shen Luo: "The court's out of money for military pay. We'll divert silver from the shops under the general's manor to pay the troops."

Jiang Qiqi: "Get a few people to sing a nursery rhyme on the streets of the enemy capital."

"What should they sing?"

"Nanyue people, bellies empty, swords in hand, they stagger around; Beiming gets three plates a meal, Nanyue gets one bowl of porridge a day."

The emperor: "This is a disaster! Who said we're going hungry? Forget renovating the gardens, and delay the officials' salaries. Our Nanyue soldiers are getting at least four dishes with every meal!"

Beiming general: "Didn't we break Shen Luo's legs so he couldn't fight anymore? Why are we still losing?"

"General, it's Shen Luo's wife who's leading the troops."

…

"Post a notice offering a reward. Find a renowned physician."

"General, we spent ten thousand taels of gold to find one. What should we have them do?"

"Heal Shen Luo's legs!"
