The Wonderful Days I Spent with You Beneath the Cherry Blossoms

They have a dream.

A dream of flying into the vast sky one day.

They know how far away the sky beyond the glass really is.

In the distant future,

humanity has built mobile fortress cities called “Plantations” on a desolate Earth, and celebrates its civilization.

Within them are living quarters for the pilots, called “Mistilteinn,” better known as the “Birdcage.”

That is where the children live.

They know nothing of the outside world.

They know nothing of the free sky.

They have been told that their only purpose is to fight.

Their enemy is the enormous life-form known as the “klaxosaurs,” shrouded in mystery.

To fight an enemy they have never seen, the children climb aboard robots called “FRANXX.”

They believe that piloting one is proof that they exist.

There was once a boy hailed as a prodigy.

Code 016. His name was Hiro.

But now he had fallen to rock bottom.

He was no longer needed.

Without a FRANXX to pilot, he might as well not exist.

Then one day, a mysterious girl known as 02 appeared before Hiro.

Two brilliant horns grew from her forehead.

“Found you, my darling.”

After the great war...

02 and Hiro meet again in the human world...
