Silk in the Snow

[Cool and aloof goddess] vs. [Loyal younger man]

(Not a bad ending! Not a bad ending! Not a bad ending! I'm saying it three times because it's important. There will be angst along the way, but I'll make things right by the end. Please don't wait until it's finished to read it. Give this newbie writer's story a chance.)

Mortals are insignificant, powerless to challenge the Heavenly Dao. All they can do is beseech the gods for mercy and pray for life-giving rain...

Once, Meng Zhaoli stood high in the Ninth Heaven, watching the eighty-one tribulations of the mortal world. Later, the boy she had personally saved became the greatest source of suffering in her life...

Yet she never regretted it. She gave the world, and the one she loved, the most beautiful part of herself:

“From now on, whatever you see will be me. Everything in this world was once something I cherished and protected. From now on, I will become all things and stay by your side until the end of time.”

Ten thousand years later, a mad god appears in the Ninth Heaven.

He shatters the Wheel of Reincarnation and merges his divine soul with all living beings in the Three Realms, all to search for that vivid figure in his memories.

But perhaps one day, when all things are reborn, they will finally meet again...
