“Two male leads + stand-in + past and present lives + plot + xianxia”
Ye Hanqi × Mu Yunshan
They say there’s a “monster” at the foot of the mountain, a bloodthirsty fiend who has left the people terrified and struggling to survive.
The eldest disciple of Kunshan volunteers to descend the mountain and slay the monster. But when he arrives, he discovers that the supposed fiend everyone has been talking about is actually a little boy who hasn’t yet come of age and a little fox. The fox keeps pestering him for treats, while the boy asks in a clear, sweet voice, “Why can’t you marry me?”
Ye Hanqi can’t find a way to explain it. He has a vague, uneasy feeling that he may have delivered himself right to their door…
