Cloud and Mist Notebook

If life is a day's journey, then the first half is the sun. The sun is one's parents, and the moon is one's child. The sun strives to bring light and drive away the darkness, while the moon remains hidden within it, protected and guided by the sun. Yet when moonlight suddenly shines in the night sky, it means the sun has already retreated behind the scenes. If the moon cannot illuminate the darkness, the sun will surely give it more light. Each time the sun rises the next day, it is like the start of another cycle. The moon, once dimly glowing, has now become a brighter, hotter sun, protecting the next generation of moons and teaching them how to drive away the darkness and shine. So when I grow old, my son will surely become the sun of the next day. And so the cycle goes on, over and over.
