"A Brief History of Humanity" One hundred thousand years ago, there were at least six different kinds of people on the earth. But today, why are we alone on the world stage? From apes who can only eat the leftover bones of tigers and wolves, to Homo sapiens who have leapt to the top of the food chain, from the primitive handprints on the wall of Chevy Cave, to the footprints of Armstrong landing on the moon, from the cognitive revolution, the agricultural revolution, to the scientific revolution and the biotechnology revolution, how did we get on the world stage and become the spirit of all things? From the "Code of Hammurabi" in the 18th century BC to the American Declaration of Independence in the 18th century, from imperialism and capitalism to liberalism and consumerism, from animal desires to material desires, from animal nature and human nature to divinity, do we understand ourselves? Are we happier? What do we really want to achieve and become?
"A Brief History of Humankind: From Animals to God" is the representative work of emerging Israeli historian Yuval Harari. It writes the history of human development from the beginning of signs of life one hundred thousand years ago to the intertwining of capital and technology in the 21st century. It weaves science and history together and explains the development history of Homo sapiens on earth from a new perspective.
"A Brief History of the Future: From Homo Sapiens to Pallas" After entering the 21st century, the plagues, famines and wars that have long threatened the survival and development of mankind have been overcome. Homo sapiens are facing new issues to be dealt with: immortality, happiness and becoming human beings with "divine nature". In the process of solving these new problems, the development of science and technology will subvert many of the "common senses" that we currently think do not need to be supported. For example, the free will advocated by humanism will face severe challenges, and machines will make smarter choices on behalf of humans. More importantly, as the development of science and technology represented by big data and artificial intelligence becomes increasingly mature, human beings will face the biggest change since the evolution to Homo sapiens. The vast majority of people will be reduced to a "worthless group", and only a small number of people can evolve into "gods" with changed characteristics.
"A Brief History of Today" Four years ago, Yuval Harari's "A Brief History of Humankind" came out, subverting our understanding of human evolution. In 2016, his "A Brief History of the Future" once again amazed everyone, refreshing our imagination of the future and setting off a new trend of thought in the global discussion of artificial intelligence. Now, the final work of the "Brief History Trilogy" is released, "A Brief History of Today", focusing on the present and facing directly the problems and challenges that affect the destiny of each of us today.

This book gave me a lot to think about, such as where we come from and where we are going. The viewpoints in the book are very novel and gave me a new understanding of human history and the future. Especially regarding the impact of technological development on human beings, it reminds me of the current Internet and artificial intelligence. Are we really ready to embrace these changes? However, this also makes me cherish my current life more and create beautiful memories with the people I like.
After reading the entire trilogy of Brief History, I feel that intelligence and consciousness are being decoupled, and that the current human race may really become Neanderthals in the future. The trilogy triggers a subversive rethinking of worldview, values, and outlook on life!
