Seeking Spirits and the Dao in a Supernatural World

Urban supernatural fiction + two male leads + twists + a taste of one's own medicine + secret identities + acting cool + sweet romance (At first, someone couldn't care less about him. Later, they come crawling back, but it's too late.) (The worldbuilding unfolds gradually, so read patiently.)

Long-haired, aloof, unhinged romantic VS calm, cunning, sensitive, and deeply devoted.

A hundred years ago, a betrayal shocked the spirit-invocation world and left countless dead and wounded. Yet those involved have kept silent. Was it because the matter was too grave, or is there another secret?

A hundred years later, Mu Yu, who has been adrift from home, joins a sect. As he solves spiritual mysteries with his fellow disciples and searches for the truth about his origins, events unexpectedly point toward an ending no one could have foreseen.

At first:

Mu Yu: "What's your name?"

So-and-so: "None of your business." (Coldly tosses out a name.)

Later:

So-and-so: "It's me. I'm back." (Eagerly hoping for a warm welcome.)

Mu Yu: "Oh, really? And who might you be? (sarcastically) I wouldn't dare claim to know you."
