All Quiet on the Western Front

"All Quiet on the Western Front" is based on the historical background of the Western Front in World War I. It uses a first-person approach to tell the story of the protagonist Paul Boymer and his classmates, who were incited by the principal Kantun Lek and devoted themselves to this so-called war of "defending the homeland" with fanatical "patriotic enthusiasm". During the four-year war, he witnessed the horrific casualties and the devastation of the war on the human body and soul, and witnessed the inhumanity of the war.
