Historical critical writings. The author Wang Fuzhi, whose courtesy name was Ernong and whose name was Jiangzhai, lived in seclusion in Shichuanshan, western Hunan in his later years. He called himself the old man of Chuanshan, so later generations called him Wangchuanshan. He was a famous thinker and historian in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, with extremely high academic attainments. This work is one of his representative works and was finalized in 1691. The views in it can be said to be the final result of his lifelong thinking and are worthy of attention and research.
