Xiao Yuanche, the God of War of the Shangyan Kingdom, had rendered such great service that he threatened the throne, yet he had always kept a low profile.
Even so, he couldn’t escape false accusations and slander. Emperor Mu Nanfeng stripped him of his office and military command, leaving him a powerless, sickly prince. His own nominal princess consort tormented him for four years.
Throughout those four years, Xiao Yuanche pretended to be gravely ill while secretly building up his strength.
He was only waiting for the day he could join forces with his old subordinates, attack the imperial capital, and avenge four years of humiliation.
“Your Highness, for some reason, that vile woman has suddenly changed.”
“She’s never changed in four years. That vile woman is just coming up with another way to humiliate me.”
