This is a fictional setting. The place names are all made up, and the country’s level of development is roughly comparable to that of the Ming dynasty. Its system of government is a blend of the Tang, Song, Ming, and Qing dynasties.
The land is in turmoil, and the nations vie for supremacy. Qi is wealthy, but beset by internal problems, leaving its military strength only around the middle to lower ranks.
Jiang Qi is an unexpected firstborn prince who cannot establish himself in Qi. By the emperor’s arrangement, he can only travel to Wei as a hostage.
Watch as this discarded prince, after his homeland falls, builds up his strength step by step while living under another’s roof. When his chance finally comes, all his accumulated efforts pay off: he not only restores his country, but destroys the other states and unifies the realm.
