This is a story I’ve been writing on and off for a long time. It’s drawn from life, but life is even more dramatic than fiction. I’ve woven the passionate, the absurd, and everything I’ve seen and heard at work into the lives of three characters. Their lives began on completely separate paths, but as time flowed on, those paths gradually crossed, and they began to influence one another.
Every decision we make and every step we take may seem accidental, but in truth, each is the result of countless inevitable forces.
In the race to get ahead at work, everyone pulls out all the stops. All they want is a promotion and a raise, and ultimately the power to make decisions and enough money. Whether any of it actually benefits the company is not something employees need to worry about. Employees should know their place, and be clear-eyed about what they are.
There are no truly earth-shattering twists and turns in this story. I’ve simply tried to faithfully record the lives and human nature I’ve witnessed, then share them with you.
