Han Xin, the God of War

The God of War Han Xin is a historical novel about Han Xin. Born in Huaiyin to a poor family, Han Xin begged an elderly woman for food as a child and endured the humiliation of crawling between someone's legs, yet adversity never dimmed his great ambitions. After Liu Bang appointed him commander-in-chief, Han Xin used his outstanding military talent to lead armies of hundreds of thousands, winning every battle and taking every stronghold. In just four years, he defeated the all-conquering Xiang Yu, Hegemon-King of Western Chu, and won glorious victories that helped the Han seize power and unite the realm. But Liu Bang's unease and suspicion led to Han Xin's demotion from King of Qi to King of Chu, then to Marquis of Huaiyin. Repeatedly schemed against and persecuted, he was ultimately killed by Empress Lu in the Bell Chamber of Changle Palace. Drawing closely on historical records, this book reconstructs the historical Han Xin and vividly, faithfully, and fully portrays the thirty-five years of his life.
