Genshin Impact: Reborn Paimon Awakens the Check-In System

[Angst] [Ruthless] [Cunning]

I hate it when every story ends with everyone living happily ever after, so I've divided the characters into good and bad sides. Not for the faint of heart.

Paimon woke up to find that she had transmigrated to the day she met the Traveler!

She planned to pull herself together and meet the Traveler again, but she waited from morning until late at night, and the Traveler never came!

Instead, she unexpectedly awakened the [Check-In System]. As long as she checked in at special locations, she could earn generous rewards!

Had the Traveler abandoned her?

Paimon didn't believe it. She had to find the Traveler!

No matter how far she had to travel or what dangers she faced, she would see them again!

…

Years later, Paimon was surrounded in Dragonfall Valley!

Raiden Shogun Ei swung her blade, splitting the entire valley in two!

Paimon fell to the ground, gravely wounded.

“Ugh!” Paimon spat out a mouthful of blood.

Chains shot from stone pillars in every direction, wrapping tightly around Paimon!

Raiden Shogun Ei: “Stop this foolishness!”

Venti: “I won't let you open the gates to the Abyss and plunge the world into ruin!”

Zhongli: “Paimon, why would you sacrifice the whole world for one person?”

Paimon wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth, gripped the Harbinger of Dawn left behind by the Traveler, and stood up. She walked forward as her chains rattled.

With every step, a pair of wings emerged from her back, half white and half black.

After eleven steps, twelve wings had grown from Paimon's back.

“Crack! Crack! Crack!”

The chains binding her snapped apart.

Tears in her eyes, Paimon cried out, “What did I do wrong? I only wanted to see them one more time!”
