So What If I’m a Good-for-Nothing? I Still Hold My Family’s Fate in My Hands

Rong Zhiqing is transported into the state of Chu and bound to a Farming System. Determined to turn over a new leaf, she throws herself into hard work on the farm, leaving her old ways behind. But there is always some fool who insists on provoking her. Out in the fields, Granny Wang bullies her at every turn: “You good-for-nothing, stop slacking off!” Rong Zhiqing fights back and beats Granny Wang, then takes control of the Rong family estate and its granaries. When famine strikes, she weeds and farms at the Chancellor’s residence, only to be mocked by her second older sister: “A good-for-nothing will never amount to anything.” In a fit of anger, she cuts off the Chancellor’s food supply, leaving the whole family starving and begging her for mercy. During the imperial selection of consorts, she focuses entirely on studying the exotic fruits on a certain man’s plate. She never expects an imperial decree to arrange her marriage. Faced with the man who once rejected her, she finally loses her composure. “I don’t want to get married. I want to farm!”

The man smiles indulgently. “If you want to farm, my fief is yours, beloved consort.” From then on, she grows rich through farming.
