Before the sun has even risen, a heavy atmosphere already hangs over the streets, as if even the air is bracing for the ill fortune to come.
Every household has its windows and doors tightly boarded up with thick planks. It is the only defense they have, though everyone knows these flimsy barriers are useless against the demons' power.
Twenty years ago, demons first appeared in this peaceful little town. Ever since, this date has been a nightmare in people's hearts.
On this day, a horned demon comes to take people away, and those taken never return. So every year, a priest is sacrificed to the demon in exchange for everyone else's safety.
This year, it is Colin's turn to be sacrificed. But unlike the years before, his offering brings a world-shaking secret to light.
