In the Scorching Apocalypse, My Best Friend Is Cool as a Cucumber

When the heat wave arrived, my best friend was the first to throw open the storeroom.

She gave away the air conditioners I’d stored there for free.

She said, “We can’t be so money-grubbing. We need to show some compassion.”

Furious, I had no choice but to go door to door asking people to pay me back.

But my best friend seized the opportunity to clear out everything in my home and take it to her boyfriend’s place, where he lived in a basement.

I had no choice but to go find her there, but she shut the door in my face.

“Jiajia, three people won’t last long. You’ll just have to sacrifice yourself.”

In the end, I died beneath a bridge, my corpse crawling with flies.

When I opened my eyes again, I was back one week before the apocalypse.
