You can read some world novels: a collection of short and medium-length works by the 19th-century French critical realist writer Stendhal. When Stendhal was 17 years old, he joined the army and followed Napoleon in the north and south, winning Napoleon's admiration. After the restoration of the Bourbon dynasty in 1814, he was wanted and exiled in Milan. He began publishing works in 1817, and later published his works under the pen name Stendhal. In 1821 he was forced to leave Milan and return to Paris. From 1832 to 1842, Stendhal suffered from financial constraints and illness, but he continued to create until his death on March 23, 1842.
