This book is compiled with reference to the basic requirements for teaching theoretical mechanics courses proposed by the Teaching Guidance Subcommittee of Mechanics Basic Courses for Non-mechanics Majors of the Higher Education Textbook Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education. This book includes three chapters: statics, kinematics, and dynamics. Among them, statics includes: basic statics, plane force system, space force system, and friction. Kinematics includes: kinematics of points, basic motion of rigid bodies, synthetic motion of points, and plane operation of rigid bodies.
Dynamics includes: basic equations of particle dynamics, momentum theorem, moment of momentum theorem, kinetic energy theorem, D'Alembert's principle, virtual displacement principle, the basis of mechanical vibration, etc. This book is suitable for teachers and students majoring in agricultural water conservancy engineering, water conservancy and hydropower engineering, civil engineering, water supply and drainage engineering, environmental engineering, forest engineering, mechanical engineering, transportation engineering and related colleges and universities. It can also be used as a reference for engineering and technical personnel.
