Isn't It Fine for a Confucian Disciple Like Me to Become a Martial Saint?

(A feel-good power fantasy, but not mindless. If you want illogical wish fulfillment, steer clear. Also known as The Great Chu Qilin Guard. If you don’t like government service, don’t read this. The protagonist isn’t a pure Confucian disciple.)

Before you stands:

The first person in Great Chu’s history to cultivate both Confucianism and martial arts, a Great Chu Qilin Envoy, the first Martial Saint, the second Confucian Sage, and one of the Sword Immortals spoken of in the martial world…

The Confucian scholar Yu Can: “Wicked disciple, you want to abandon literature and take up martial arts? Wait… how did you become a Martial Saint?”

The Great Chu Emperor: “Where’s the princess? Someone, help!”

The martial artists: “Seriously, we’re all rough, uncultured fighters, so how come you’re reading books now?”

The world is in turmoil. Why did the first Confucian Sage die? Qilin? Yinglong? The great war from a thousand years ago continues to this day. The wondrous immortals, divine Buddhas and true demons, ferocious divine beasts and monsters, Confucian Sages and Martial Saints… (It starts a little slowly and really gets going after about thirty chapters.)
