The Legend of Liu Zheng

Why do typhoons always veer away when they reach the coast of Zhejiang? Why have there been fewer Chinese myths since the Ming dynasty? Why were China, with its many cultivators and sects, bullied by other countries back then? Why did the Japanese army slaughter Nanjing instead of taking its population and resources? What really happened during that earthquake? What lies behind the COVID-19 pandemic... Find out in the new book, The Legend of Liu Zheng (The Dragon Group Chronicles).

Set against the story of a young man in the city who gains cultivation abilities and serves his country, this book explores supernatural phenomena around the world, international affairs, and the course of national development. It aims to awaken national consciousness and promote confidence in the nation and its culture. It also explains some principles of cultivation in detail.

For example: “The most important things in practicing spells are the precision of the hand seals and the harmony of the incantations. So the key to mastering spells is sensing and attunement... Once your hand seals and incantations are precise, you can quickly sense the elusive energy of heaven and earth.”

Liu Zheng pondered this at length, then asked, “Could you put it this way? A cultivator's body is like a radio. The circuit board and transistors are like the meridians and acupoints in a cultivator's body. Cultivating true essence is like powering on the radio. The spiritual energy of heaven and earth is like radio waves drifting through the air, both being forms of energy that exist everywhere. Forming hand seals is like extending a radio's antenna, and reciting incantations is like tuning the radio's frequency and amplitude. When the antenna and the tuning are in harmony, the radio can receive radio waves. The radio converts the energy of the waves into sound, just as the human body absorbs the spiritual energy of heaven and earth and transforms it into true essence. The speaker plays the sound, just as a cultivator releases a spell?”

“... Exactly!”
