[Both leads are devoted only to each other + the emperor pursues his wife after losing her + laughs aplenty + face-slapping the scheming green tea + perfect ending]
Chu Yun was childhood friends with Qin Sheng, the disgraced Fifth Prince. They had promised to guard Qingyun Pass together, but an imperial edict shattered their peaceful life. The disgraced Fifth Prince Qin Sheng was made the new emperor, yet he only made Chu Yun an Imperial Noble Consort. It turned out there was another woman in Qin Sheng's heart, his long-lost love. Because she had once been a palace maid, he could only make her a First-Class Attendant.
First-Class Attendant Bai: “Your Majesty, I insulted the Imperial Noble Consort.”
Qin Sheng: “It's fine.”
First-Class Attendant Bai: “I framed the Imperial Noble Consort.”
Qin Sheng: “It's fine.”
First-Class Attendant Bai: “I almost poisoned the Imperial Noble Consort's cousin to death.”
Qin Sheng: “It's fine.”
First-Class Attendant Bai: “I want the Imperial Noble Consort's tea leaves.”
Qin Sheng: “Give them to her.”
First-Class Attendant Bai: “I want the Imperial Noble Consort's luminous pearl.”
Qin Sheng: “Give it to her.”
First-Class Attendant Bai: “I want the Imperial Noble Consort's beauty pills.”
Qin Sheng: “Give them to her.”
Chu Yun: “If you give them to her, I'll die. Would Your Majesty still give them to her?”
Qin Sheng: “It's just one beauty pill. I'll have your brother send you another one next month. Give it to her.”
He'd forgotten that she'd said it was the last one...
And then...
Qin Sheng: “The road to the underworld is long, and Yun'er is afraid of being lonely. I shall go keep her company. The throne is yours. Who wants it?”
Prince Xian, Qin Xing: “I only love poetry and music, and have no interest in governing.”
Prince Ming, Qin Yu: “I am still the son of a disgraced consort. I am unworthy of a high position.”
Prince Duan, Qin Yan: “I am only a soldier. All I know is how to fight.”
Prince You, Qin Jing: “My heart belongs to the mountains and rivers, not the court.”
Prince Kang, Qin Chen: “I only know how to heal people. I can't govern a country.”
Prince Fu, Qin Min: “I'm still a child. All I know is how to eat, drink, and have fun.”
It's not time travel, it's not rebirth, it's not mind-reading, it's not soul-changing, it's not chasing
