This book is an internal textbook for the Electric Power Engineering Department of Sichuan Water Conservancy Vocational and Technical College, and is a branch of the "Installation and Maintenance of Electrical Secondary Equipment" in the construction of textbooks for the "Power System Automation Technology" major supported by the central government.
The book is written in a "project-oriented, task-driven" system, and is divided into basic knowledge of relay protection and seven projects, including basic components of relay protection devices, current and voltage protection of power grid phase short circuits, power grid grounding protection, power grid distance protection, power grid microcomputer protection, power transformer relay protection, and hydroelectric generator relay protection. This book is written for the electrical equipment and outlet lines in hydropower plants below medium-sized (that is, the total installed capacity is less than 50MW, the outlet voltage level is 110kV and below). Line protection with voltage levels of 220kV and above only mentions concepts to broaden students' horizons. Each project includes conventional protection and microcomputer protection. The microcomputer protection only introduces the principle, function, and logic block diagram. For the specific principle wiring and setting calculation methods, please refer to each manufacturer's product manual.
This book can be used as a textbook for electrical majors and as a reference for other people who study relay protection and are engaged in relay protection work.
